No more Kinders Suprise on the shelf but there’s a new addition – Kinder Joy!! When I first saw it on the shelves, I resisted getting it. However, I succumbed to temptation…shucks…the eggs look too cute to resist! Never underestimate the power of marketing!
Kinder Joy
After peeling open the packaging which seperates the egg into half, you will receive another surprise!
Surprise!!
Two Rocher-like crunchy chocolate balls are nestled amongst a bed of smooth white and milk chocolate. Kinder Joy also reminded me of Nutella which comes with a plastic utensil but this time round, the utensil is so intricately designed to look like a man’s head! The chocolate might be a tad too sweet for most people but I just like the cuteness of this snack! hehehe
The eggs cost $1.60 each and are available at major supermarkets! 🙂
My mum exclaimed in a excited voice, urging me to go look at something. This was half the sight that greeted us on Wed –
Giant Rainbow
It was the hugest rainbow we’ve ever seen, forming a beautiful arch right outside our balcony! On closer scrutiny, there were actually 2 rainbows but the second one couldn’t be captured in this picture! Rainbows are usually regarded as good omens as they are always so bright and cheery. In fairytales, it’s common that the fictional characters find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and there are many mythical tales surrounding rainbows too.
For some scientic explanation, the Wiki reads:
“A Rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth’s atmosphere. They take the form of a multi-coloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arc and violet on the inner section of the arch.
More rarely, a secondary rainbow is seen, which is a second, fainter arc, outside the primary arc, with colours in the opposite order. “
The giant rainbows became the talk of town, in a general feel-good way. However, with the unending rainfall hitting our shores the past few days, the unthinkable happened yesterday.
Our very own Merlion was struck by lightning! OMG…shocking right? Poor thing must be having a headache now since it was struck on the head…some visitors were scared silly and dashed to the nearby F&B establishments in fright! I would too…if I was nearby! Many have said it’s a bad omen…oh well…2009 is known to be a turbulent year with lots of ups n downs and so we’ll just have to take things as they come. Contractors have been engaged to repair the Merlion and they should do so soon before it gets 头风….
